3.5 starsWell, this was a pleasant surprise. I'm not new to Kaily Hart's work, and in fact, having read her other pieces had me requesting this one from netgalley. However, her other work has been contemporary, so I was interested to see where she went with paranormal. From the beginning, I was sucked in and intrigued. The characters she created were interesting and she teased us just enough with each of the guys to make me want more, more, more, in upcoming books in this series. As for Seth and Devon, I enjoyed both of them. I loved Devon's strength and her selflessness. And I was a sucker for Seth's attitude and possessiveness (in a good way, believe me).The only thing that didn't really work for me was the length of this book. Don't get me wrong, I love novellas. But with this one, there was so much world building that needed to be done (and, unfortunately, wasn't) that I was confused and felt sort of left in the dust. I wished Hart has expanded on many things, had explained more, rather than just giving us a tiny taste into this new series.Regardless, I will definitely be picking up the next one (and the one after that and the one after that). At least until we get to Christian. Because...hnnnnggggggg.
