My Ex From Hell (The Blooming Goddess Trilogy Book One)

My Ex From Hell - Tellulah Darling 2.5 starsI read and loved Ms. Darling's first book, [b:Sam Cruz's Infallible Guide to Getting Girls|15720761|Sam Cruz's Infallible Guide to Getting Girls|Tellulah Darling|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1340659360s/15720761.jpg|21393665]. There was something refreshing and real about her storytelling that I clung to.When I saw that she had another new book out, I jumped on it, even though it's the first of an incomplete series (my hate for incomplete series is vast). At the beginning, My Ex was promising. It had all the makings of another Sam Cruz: funny, quirky MC, great humor, good dialogue, and a cast of fun characters. Unfortunately, somewhere along the way, she lost me.I think it was a case of too much crammed into too little space. There was so much information that loads got lost. Transitions were not smooth (or even there at all). At times, I felt like I was drunk reading this because...seriously...what? Besides the utter confusion, I was left wanting. The thing I was counting on (that I loved from Sam Cruz) was the undeniable UST, then resolved ST, all topped off with massive amounts of swoon. Instead we got a love interest who was a complete ass. No, seriously, an ass. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy was she interested in him? Or better yet: why did he not get a junk punch?Final thoughts: while this has a great premise, a capable author, and a cast of funny characters, this one just missed the mark for me.
